Michael Sommer, general manager

Michael is driven by a strong sense of determination and possesses a true entrepreneurial spirit. With a solid background in international wholesale, he has the unique ability to quickly grasp complex situations and understand the needs and concerns of retailers.

Having initially started his career in the wood industry, Michael successfully expanded international markets for a prominent paint and varnish manufacturer. His keen eye for detail, combined with his remarkable ability to maintain a comprehensive overview, has consistently allowed him to excel in his field.

In 2012, Michael made a strategic shift, representing the interests of wholesalers in a renowned buying group for wood and building materials. During this period, he honed his negotiation skills and solidified his expertise in wholesale operations.

Furthermore, Michael's expertise extends to his time at the trade association, NORDWEST Handel AG, which has an extensive network of 1,240 specialist trade partners across Europe. In his c-level management role, Michael streamlined goods procurement in various business areas, including construction, trade/industry, steel, sanitary, and heating.

With his deep understanding of the wholesale industry, Michael is well-equipped to make a significant impact as the General Manager of Daybiz. His passion for excellence and unwavering commitment to achieving optimal results make him a valuable asset to any organization fortunate enough to have him on board.

Joyce de Fijter, intertrade manager

 

Joyce is an enthusiastic person and likes working with data. Her accuracy goes beyond perfection. She started her career at Plieger, the large Dutch wholesaler for which Richard worked too, already in 1993 and developed here career during the course of a 27-year period. Having worked for different departments, remember Plieger is both in the professional market as well as in the DIY, she is both very knowledgeable on the 2 different market sectors but more importantly on all the different aspects of being a wholesaler. The business processes of a distributor, the data collection of a wholesaler in both HVAC and electrical, nationally and internationally, and a vast product- and brand knowledge will help to serve the DayBiz partners in an excellent manner. She started working for DayBiz since January 2021 and has quickly shown her valuable contribution in understanding the complexity of international price comparison and data improvement. Joyce has taken upon her the role of DayBiz' Intertrade Manager, and will as such be your daily contact person when it comes to offering, ordering, transporting and invoicing. She is Dutch and operates from her home office.
